ODESSA 9-20-2008

There were 5 cars that left the Rosauer's parking lot and we met up with Larry's son outside Odessa. Steve & Charlie had gotten their car back and we ran into them (not physically) while on our way to the horseshoe pits. It was an informal day of people stopping to enjoy the parade, good food and fun including the Kiddie Tractor pull. Arlyn decided to enter the horseshoe pitching contest and thanks to Steve, Charlie, Denise, Mike, Rex and Barb's cheering support during the long cold afternoon, Arlyn and his teammate Jim, wound up with a 3rd place trophy. We met a wonderful character named Jack. He is an 82 year old cutup that would fit right in with the Corvette Club. We had to stay to see if he got first in the tournament. He didn't but we sure had a good time watching. There was a guy named Goodwin, him and his partner got first, and one of the guys Arlyn & Jim beat to get 3rd was named Watcher. When they played against them the first time, before they got beat, I asked him if that was an occupation or his last name. He didn't think that was very funny. Oh Well!!!
