Seattle in September

September 12, Dick, Joy, Roger & Joyce headed west to attend the Corvette Marque Club of Seattle's event "Seattle in September ". We stopped in Moses Lake for breakfast and picked up Grant & Karen Oberg. George & Aida joined us in Seattle.

It was a great weekend and a fantastic 3 day event. Friday night BBQ followed by valve cover races. Grant and Karen put up a great fight but Karen's Hotyl03 had too much drag with Tweety Bird on the top! Dick & Roger now have the bug and will probably start designing their own valve covers over the next year or so. They had a beautiful cruise to see Seattle at night but we old folks headed for bed early. The ones that attended said it was beautiful but got home too late. An Accident on 405 brought them to an immediate halt.

Saturday morning's Show and Shine was held in the parking lot of an amazing appliance store. Inside the store they were cooking up a storm. A variety of food from peach turnovers to egg rolls, chocolate covered strawberries, pot stickers, prime rib and roast pork sandwiches, not to mention the pizza and quesadillas outside on the BBQ. We all had tickets for Mimosa's as well. roger and Joy made good use of everyone's tickets and tried to get Aida in trouble.

The afternoon brought the poker run. Grant and Karen said it was great but Karen said she missed too much being the navigator.

We had a beautiful dinner cruise aboard the Argosy. A great buffet, great entertainment and breathtaking views of Seattle's skyline at night.

We walked away with some awards and prizes. Aida didn't manage to get them all this time. Karen gave her a run for her money, but Joy helped Karen by drawing her number for a beautiful leather jacket!

A beautiful, sunny weekend in Seattle!!
